I don't think I have a Herbert Sidwell in my family or Annie Wainwright. Most of my family are around Pontefract and Castleford, blacksmith's and glass blowers by trade.

I don't have documentation on the Sidwells that I have so I can't really prove it. However, from what I been able piece together from other people Harriet Sidwell is my husband's maternal ggg-grandmother and William & Ann are her parents.

I'm still searching for anyone with information regarding my Sarah Ann "Sally" Sidwell. Her death info says she was born in Lexington, KY in Apr 1811-1814. She was married to Joseph H. Thomas in Pike Co., MO on 27 Jan 1831. In 1850, she and Joseph had moved to Benton, Lafayette Co., WI. Per her son-in-law's biography, it was due to Joseph's strong anti-slavery beliefs. At any rate, Sarah and Joseph had 14 children: Cathern V. (1832-1845); John Sidwell (1833-1883); Margaret Ann (1835-????); Belitha Griffin (1837-1904); Robert Milton (1839-1865); William H. (1840-1840); Sarah Elizabeth (1842-1892); Myrtle Martha (1844-1845); Henry Hudson (1847-????); William Theodore (1849-1931); Mary Jane (1850-????); Martha Verlinda (1853-????), Lauria F. (1855-1858); and Eleonora Louisa (1858-1876). Sarah died 2 Dec 1876 in Seneca, Crawford Co., WI.

Hi there if you are still there. I have lots and lots of information about these guys, who are also my direct ancestors on my mother's side. One of Rebecca Clark's many children, John, was my g-g-grandfather.

Rebecca's father was James W. Clark [1775-1845] and mother was named Sidwell [that's her FIRST name].

Hi, I have been looking for a marriage of William Sidwell (bc1791) and his first wife Anne ?, they lived in Pontefract, he was a blacksmith by trade. Anne died c1826, William re-married a year later. Anne or William don't appear to have been born or married in the Pontefract area, so maybe they originated from Dewsbury and thats our connection. Need to check parish registers or can you help with their marriage, or were they were born. Did Harriet have any brothers or sisters?
Hope you can shed some light. Thanks Margaret
