GREEN: Mary Kathleen Ritchey (nee Sidwell), age 77, of Green, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013.

She was born on July 15, 1936 in Perry County, Ohio to the late Theodore R. and Mary E. Sidwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ramona Stoneburner; brothers, David and Theodore Sidwell.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Earl R. Ritchey; son, Eric R. (Moriah Chandler) Ritchey of St. Johns, FL; daughter, Rhonda L. (Tim) Brink of Uniontown, OH; grandchildren, Collin, Karli and Isaac Brink and Evan Ritchey; sisters, Kathryn Morgan and Betty Sigler; brother, Frank Sidwell; many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 2-5 pm on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OHIO 44305. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating.

I'm uncertain of the best spot for entering this information so that it can be seen by all who might be interested; however, I'll post here as well as the Alexander, Siddle, and Siddall boards.

Esther or Hester, referred to by both names in the minutes of the church to which she and James belonged, used the spelling Sidwell but was the daughter of Job Siddle/Siddall (both spellings used in his will) and Sarah Hudson, who were married in Caswell Co, NC. She and her sister Judith were both named as Alexanders in the will, and Judith was married to James's double-first cousin, James C. Alexander. Both James and James C. were at the estate sale held after Job's death, the only Alexanders purchasing items except James father Matthew and a couple of his brothers.The naming of children proves nothing but may be of interest: Ira (for uncle), Sarah, and Nancy by Esther and James; and Sarah, Job, and Nancy by Judith and James C.

Coty Ellen Sidwell, 83, of South Zanesville, Ohio, passed away December 31, 2014 at Genesis Hospice.

She was a friendly, honest, and hardworking person who cared deeply for her family and who never meet a stranger.

She was born June 4, 1931 in Edray, West Virginia (Pocahontas County) to the late Edward and Daisy Robertson.
She graduated from Marlinton High School, Marlinton, WV and Meredith Business College, Zanesville, OH.
She served in the Women's Army Corps in Tokyo, Japan during the Korean Conflict.
She retired from Nickles Bakery.

She is survived by her sons, Lewis (Terri) Sidwell and John (Helen) Sidwell of Zanesville, Ohio; and grandchildren, Katie, Karen and Kari Sidwell and Abbigail and Grant Sidwell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis F. Sidwell; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Friends and family may call Friday January 2, 2015 from 10:00 am to noon at the William Thompson and Son Funeral Home in White Cottage, OH.

Service will be helri directly following the calling hours with the Rev. Dennis Allison officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park where Zanesville V.F.W. Post #1058 and the United States Army will conduct military honors.

There is a tremendous amount of wrong info on online trees regarding my GGGgf Thomas Y Sidwell (1808-1886) of Warren & Greene Co Georgia. No matter how many messages I send out, it does not seem to slow the spread of this incorrect info.

1)He did NOT die in 1881 and he did not die in Madison GA
He died in 1886 in Greene County GA. There is a notice of his death in 1886 in Greensboro Baptist Church records AND his obituary appears in the Greensboro Herald Journal in 1886.

2)He was NOT the son of David Sidwell Jr who died in 1817 Morgan Co Ga. David Sidwell Jr & his wife Elizabeth did have a son named Thomas J Sidwell who died unmarried in 1836 at the age of 23. His obituary appeared in the Milledgeville GA newspaper, naming his stepfather Clementius Zachary. David Sidwell Jr's widow Elizabeth married Clementius Zachary.

Thomas Y Sidwell was a son of Lydia Sidwell (single) and unknown father. Lydia was a sister of David Sidwell Jr.
An 1810 Warren Co GA deed shows that Lydia Sydwell, single woman, bequeathed a slave to her "infant son Thomas Y Sydwell". This was just before she married her first husband James Littleton.

Yes, I have a copy of the Index to births from Calhoun County that lists Albert Sidwell born to Mary Sidwell on 10 Aug 1892.
The Albert Lawrence Sidwell I am trying to trace was born in Grantsville on 4 September 1892, served in the US Army starting in 1912, was married to Addie ?, and died 9 Oct 1949. Albert had a younger sister named Fanny, born in 1894 or 1895. His California death index lists his mother's maiden name as Burris. In looking up the name Burris in Calhoun County, I find it is often recorded as Burrows, so I think Albert and Fanny's mother was Mary Burrows Sidwell but I haven't been able to get positive confirmation of that yet.

I believe you may be talking about Fanny Bush, who married William Sidwell. William is my Great-great-grandfather, he was married twice, once to Fanny Bush. Maybe this will help.

Sorry, I know nothing more on Albert & Fanny. Rebecca Sidwell and Lee Burrows were my gggrandparents.I don't know anything about the Burrows only that Lee died in Black Rock Arkansas on a riverboat. Rebecca married Jim Blunt later and died in Highland Arkansas.Her daughter Eliza Burrows was my grandmother.
